Haunches rested upon the ground, tail curled around pale legs. The female wolf sat poised, eyes closed, yet alert. Her ears listened to the world around her, the occasional small animal scurrying across the grasses that were dry with the cold. As she drew in a breath, chest rising then falling slowly, her eyes opened and darted towards a slow moving raccoon. Odd... It's noon. It should be dozing in a tree or dark area, not walking around.. Slowly rising, she moved closer, ears perked towards the creature that was just now 10 yards away from her. A gentle bark was emitted from her throat, yet the raccoon still slowly crossed the ground. "Strange...." Her nose dropped to the ground and she eyed the creature, trying to see if she could visibly see something wrong from it's back side.
