the rain hit my pelt and slowly soaked my skin. i sighed a bit, laying down beneath a tree on the north part of my territory. the wind was blowing, my pointed ears twitching with annoyance. my muscles tensed as the chill began to set in. i lifted my muddy hindquarters with my forepaws extended in front of me in a bow as i was stretching. standing to my full height, i trotted to a large rock where an opening could barely be seen to go underground. i crawled through the hole to my den to shelter myself from the wind and the rain. shaking my fur out, my head began to spin. i clinched my eyes shut, and made sure to keep my balance. i yawned, and stretched again. my butt hit the dense earth with a soft thud, and my body sank to the cool ground. i yawned yet again, and let sleep overtake me.
Bordeux's paws hit the earth as he made his way along the lands. He'd decided it was about time to join a pack...to have a sense of belonging. The greek shepherd's ears were pricked as he trotted, his nose twitching for signs of life and if the leader of this land was around. he hoped whoever it was wasn't nasty or aggressive because that wasn't who he was and it wasn't how he wanted to spend his days in a pack that's nasty and cruel.
Hise nose detected a female and he spied a muddy doberman pinscher lying down. he paused a respectable distance from her and cleared his throat, announcing his prescence.
"hello? I'm bordeux and I'm interested in joining your pack," he called to her and let his rump hit the ground with a soft 'thump'. his knees were turned outward slightly and his forelegs kept his upper body erect as he sat there, letting his tail wrap around his back legs, twitching on occasion. the weather had taken a nasty turn and now heavy rain had begun falling but thankfully, it was just drizzling right now.
waking from my shortened sleep by an unknown voice, i yawned, and shook my head to wake myself up. i did a quick glance over my body to see if my presence was, well, presentable. my rump was slightly muddy, and my pink tongue easily got rid of it. the taste of mud was foul in my mouth, and i spit it out disgustedly. i stood up and stretched my hind legs by extending them behind me. my stump of a tail wagged a bit, and i sighed. maybe this was a potential member of the pack? my heart fluttered a bit, and i was honestly excited at the thought of my pack finally taking off. i crawled through the opening of the den, and my clipped hears were fully alert. i yawned yet again, exposing my sharp, white teeth. my shiny pelt was practically being attacked by the falling raindrops, and i was unhappy that it was raining. a small frog hopped in front of me, heading toward the pond.
the rain was falling at a steady pace, and i knew for a fact that the rain was going to make the water rise. hopefully it won't flood. i lowered my head to sniff the tiny creature as it hopped off to reach it's destination. i forgot about the dog sitting to my left momentarily, and i regained my composure. i lifted my head, my hazel gaze turning to the creature. my regal appearance could be quite intimidating at first, but my soft gaze said otherwise. the sun, which was peaking through the clouds, hit my eyes and made them listen. i blinked, blinded for a moment, and looked up where a rainbow displayed the full color spectrum. amazing, isn't it? i'm sorry, what was your name? i am roux, reine of this pack. i smiled, and sat down a good distance away. the defective hearing in my left ear caused the words that he spoke to become jumbled, and i didn't really understand what the male said.
"I'm Bordeux. I'd be interested in joining your pack," he said softly again as he kept his posture in a friendly manner and a respectful one at that.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Roux," Bordeux explained cheerfully. "I've been deciding on whether or not to join a pack and i think i might have made the right choice."
He smiled at her again and looked around at her lands. They were incredible really and much nicer than what he would've expected in the city.
Most packs were either held in old abandoned things such as warehouses and whatnot. it was all rather boring honesty. he liked being out in the opened and being able to see nature. He turned his attention onto Roux. Her appearance didn't frighten him the least. She seemed much like himself in behavior.
Bordeux continued to sit patiently, waiting for the female to respond again.
bordeux. his deep voice was very different from mine, and he seemed to have a very respectful manner. i was pleased with the way he addressed me and my pack. i sat a little taller when he said that he made the right choice to join my pack. i nodded, and smiled again. my lands were unlike the others; it was very open, and contained not only abandoned buildings, but a nice forested area as well. the headquarters of the pack were located in the northern sectors, where the trees and pond are. my pointed ears flicked away the rain that began to flood into my ears. i sighed, and scowled at the sky. when will it ever stop raining?
the pleasure is all mine, bordeux. i bowed a little as i spoke to the male. you speak of joining? i smiled, cocking my head to one side. i moved a little closer to him, but kept a safe distance. usually i'm really good at reading others and their intentions, but this male seemed genuine. i eyed him, trying to figure out if he would make a good soldier or a duke. to be a duke, he has to really impress me. his size suggested that he would be a great soldier, and he would be a good protector. what rank are you looking to achieve, bordeux?
"Whatever rank you see fit ma'am," he said honestly smiling at Roux. "I'm a good protector as well as making sure the laws are followed of your pack."
He yawned and stretched lazily. He turned to Roux.
"Are there any other members of your pack miss?" he prodded curiously cocking his head to the side.
surely this female had other pack members in line or have met some who would be interested in joining her pack. he couldn't wrap his head around the fact that he could possibly be the first male or packmate period to join. still, he had to entertain that possibility. perhaps she needed someone who would recruit members...go out into the public and spread the word around.
"if you'd like ma'am, i could spread the word around about your wonderful pack," he offered. "Or perhaps you could hold some kind of orientation, like give information on your pack to help gather some new members." he beamed at her.
sighing a heavy sigh, i knew this question was going to come up. my pack was limited to just myself, and now, bordeux. it's a pity, really. i knew there were other packs around, and who knew what they had planned? what if they decided to walk onto my lands, and try to over rule me? i refuse to let that happen. i drew in every word that bord was saying, letting them soak in. he had a great idea, and i knew he was right. maybe he could go out and recruit some members, and i could hold an orientation, possibly. i don't know how it may turn out, but it wouldn't hurt to try.
well bordeux, you happen to be the first one to help me build my pack. i appreciate you joining me. you seem like the trustworthy type, and i know that you'll be a great asset to the pack, once it's established. i spoke the last part of the sentence under my breath. i wanted to get my pack up an ready, and i was excited. i wanted to be in charge, and run this city. take over other packs.
i shook my head, snapping back to reality. perhaps we could go find recruits, and hold an orientation. i like the way you think. you can be my second in command, how about that? i smiled, and dipped my head in acceptance. shall we set off soon?
"sounds good," he grinned at Roux. "And sure we can totally hold orientation. Perhaps maybe come up with some kind of exciting purpose."
he began following Roux to her pack lands. his paws sank into the soft dirt leaving perfect impressions behind as he moved. his long legs moved gracefully and his tail wagged behind him like a banner. The cold weather was starting to take effect on him. each time he breathed, small puffs of steam escpaed his nose and mouth as he turned to Roux.
"I'm sure we'll have a great pack," he said earnestly and brightly. "I'm sure there are lots of dogs out there that want to be apart of a good pack."
most though probably preferred to be on their own, but there were a majority that liked the feeling of what the pack brought them--security, a place to call home and family. strays that lived out there on their own, they were lacking in those three things. it was sad.
sighing, i looked to paranormal. my red fur was getting soaked in the rain. my amber gaze softened as he spoke. i know, we just need to show them what we're made of, i guess. i smirked, and knew that my pack was at stake. with only two members, how are we going to survive if another pack came in and tried to seize my territory. my gaze dropped to the ground, and i studied my paws. the white and orange fur was beginning to become matted as i walked through the mud. hopefully someone would come join my pack. but i'm glad i had someone with me. i enjoy the company of others. i looked up to paranormal and smiled sweetly, hoping he would realize i am truly grateful for him joining my pack. i guess i'll have to just call a meeting then, if you would like to try to help me recruit members? my feathered but soaked tail wagged a bit, as i stood to my paws.
